For over 20 years, Bev Hurlburt, dreamed of being on stage, doing what came naturally for her - talking. She dreamed of connecting with each individual in an audience, reaching people through inspiration and motivation. Other than loving people and loving to talk she wasn't sure she had a story - a story interesting enough to share with others. But as she is known to say, "be careful what you wish for", because she suddenly found her life turned upside down and filled with unwanted stories.
Using her real life experiences, she weaves a story of survival and courage following the sudden death of her husband. She focuses not on the pain, but on the journey to the other side of grief, the journey that brought her closer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
"After a tragedy there comes a time when you make a conscious decision to either get back into the game of life or continue to sit on the sidelines and watch it go by. I had sat on the bench one too many times as a kid; I wasn't about to let it happen again."
Bev Hurlburt
Now, more than 20 years later, armed with stories she never thought possible, her dream is coming true. Bev is connecting with audiences as she encourages others to get off the bench and say YES to the game of life!!!
Most recently Bev wrote and published a devotion book titled “Your 40 Day Journey.” In it, she shares personal stories that provide practical use of scripture in our everyday lives. Her greatest hope is that each person who reads the daily devotion will move closer to God.
Along with being an inspirational speaker and author, Bev is a Certified Lay Speaker with the United Methodist Church, an Individual Volunteer with the General Board of Global Ministries, a wife, mother and grandmother. She claims Acts 20:24 as her personal mission. “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” |

You impact so many people because God's light truly shines through you, because of your personality and love for life and love of the Lord. It's so obvious.
Jeff Ensman.
Bev has a gift that is very much needed in this world today...compassion combined with the ability to connect with people.

You are an inspiring woman of God and it was an absolute blessing to be in your presence and to hear your story. I left the retreat feeling rejuventated, revived, and ready to serve the Lord with my whole heart. You are truly gifted by God and I look forward to watching you grow in Christ as you inspire women to be better wives, mothers, and servants of God.
Michelle, Risingsun OH
Thank you very much, the women are still talking about the retreat and are planning on one next year. You connected to the women about their relationship with God. How important the personal relationship is.

You are such an awesome woman of God. You are so full of sunshine, love, compassion and you’re a fantastic speaker. I am so glad I was here to listen to you. You’ve made me laugh, brought tears to my eyes and helped me to love a rock that you placed in my hand that opened my eyes and mind.
